Department of Ophthalmology Medical University of Vienna International Symposium
RETINAL VASCULAR DISEASES October 20, 2007 Vienna Austria
RVO: What is the cause, what is the therapy?
Austrian Academy of Sciens, Festive Hall
WELCOME

How often do we see patients suffering from retinal vein occlusion in our daily clinical routine? How often do we face the dilemma of it simply not being clear which therapy we should suggest: haemodilution, transfer to specialists in internal medicine, laser, surgery, steroids, anti-VEGF? And above all, do we at all know the exact pathophysiologic cause of this illness?

Bringing together experts in ophthalmology, vascular biology and internal medicine, this symposium aims at emphasizing the need for consensus on treatment recommendations and improving interdisciplinary collaboration in investigating the pathophysiology and

sequelae of and therapeutic approaches in retinal vein occlusion. Experts from these disciplines will present therapeutic experience and the latest developments in clinical and basic research ensuring a lively interdisciplinary discussion.

Specials thanks go to the initiators, the sponsors and the audience who will all contribute to this extraordinary scientific meeting in the wonderful setting of the Festive Hall of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
