The organizers are very happy to invite researchers to the biennial premier congress of the European Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism. The congress takes place in Vienna, in early September, a wonderful month for a Vienna visit with great weather and cultural activities.

The agenda for the congress will deal with recent advances in both basic research and clinical/medical aspects of substance use, abuse, and addiction, as well as the social consequences of addictions. The leading scientists will be invited to give plenary lectures. Most of the presentations will be organized as poster sessions and symposia.

The congress will be ideal for researchers, clinicians, and students to interact and to catch up on various topics of biomedical and clinical research related to substance abuse and addiction.
The congress will also be a platform for new and fresh European and world-wide collaborations in these research areas.

We hope to be able to organize a scientific program that ignites novel break-through ideas in an innovative and friendly atmosphere.
