DE COMILLAS - DRASSANES REIALS DE BARCELONA
The venue is located at the Ramblas on Barcelona’s seafront
near Port Vell. "Las Drassanes" - originally the royal shipyards
- date back to the 13the century and were given to the City of Barcelona
at the end of the Civil War. Today this is the largest and best preserved
example of a medieval shipyard in the world. Part of the building
(Reials Drassanes) houses the Maritime Museum with some fascinating
exhibits, special effects and replicas of old ships. The dining hall
(Marqués de Comillas) is a huge room with impressive Gothic
arches.
