The Vienna Academy of
Postgraduate Medical Education and Research is Austria's most traditional
conference & association management institution in the health
care field, providing leadership, organizational guidance, headquarters
facilities and staff resources to around 30 medical conferences
per year and 21 medical associations. It was founded in 1924 - managed
for years by the Nobel laureate Julius Wagner-Jauregg. The PCO is
a nonprofit organization and our board consists only of faculty
members of the Vienna University School of Medicine. This Institution
always has been, and continues to be, a conference and association
management organization dedicated to serving the needs of the medical
nonprofit community.
We continue to expand the services
available to our clients because of the talented people we retain,
our combined professional experience, our focus on excellent service
and our ongoing investment in office facilities and information
technology. We have a strong commitment to quality, service and
value which is hard to match by other conference management organizations
in the health care field.
In addition to the services you probably
know from other PCOs, we can provide your conference with a new
online-abstract-submission software (developed by Goldbook®),
that permits not only convenient and user friendly submission for
the participants, but also online reviewing and scoring by the jury.
Online author notification is also possible. Printing costs are
being minimized, as all abstracts are being stored in a ready-to-print
database.
World Wide Web-presence hosted by the
Vienna Medical Academy server offers multiple opportunities like
online registration, credit card payment, abstract submission, program-
and abstract-viewing as well as discussion fora. Additional services,
like a message system, the personal.itinary.finder® that guides
you through the conference and the supplier.finder®
(used exclusively in Europe by the VMA) linked to the commercial
exhibition, can be provided on site.
The Vienna Medical Academy offers a
cost-effective infrastructure that would minimize your investment
but maximize the flexibility in terms of staffing and program development.
Within the framework of our services, various administrative tasks
are efficiently addressed by specialized staff: Accounting, Convention
& Trade Show Management, Human Resources, Information Services,
Office Services and Public Relations. The PCO is specialized in
the needs of the health care field and manages conferences with
total operating budgets ranging from EURO 50,000 to EURO 2 millions.
In the past 40 years, we have provided professional services to
more than 800 national and international conferences.
We enjoy an excellent reputation among
national and international health care professionals, medical societies,
business partners, conference centers, major hotel companies and
convention bureaus.
